Financial Services Authority
As a result of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the FSA took on its full responsibilities. They state these in the following way: 'We are an independent body that regulates the financial services industry in the UK. We have been given a wide range of rule-making, investigatory and enforcement powers in order to meet our four statutory objectives: market confidence, public awareness, consumer protection and the reduction of financial crime'. Publications accessible include consultation papers, speeches, policy statements and press releases. You can also find Final Notices and Handbook material.
